Summary

This global project was designed as a set of activities supported by NGOs who actively work in the area and institutions including Ulcinj Municipality, Communal Utility and PE Morsko dobro. Activities were implemented in a synchronised manner aiming to reduce the use of SUP at Long beach and Ada Bojana.
Under this project, Zero Waste Montenegro conducted 7 audits at 7 beach cafes and restaurants and hotels in Ulcinj Long Beach and created a detailed report with best practices and recommendations for alternatives to single-use plastic items in the Montenegrin market towards plastic waste reduction in the Horeca sector in Montenegro. The participating Horeca sector signed an official commitment statement (MoU) before the implementation of these practices. The report was presented to beach cafes and restaurants in a workshop. A Guide to Zero Waste in the Horeca sector in Montenegro was also produced and is available online in Montenegrin and Albanian languages.
