Iberostar, going waste-free by 2025 in Montenegro
Zero Waste Montenegro has recently started working with Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, one of the largest hotel chains in the world that has more than 100 hotels in 16 countries around the world, on the implementation of an ambitious project in their hotels in Montenegro. Iberostar is leading in responsible tourism by promoting a sustainable business model focused on the care for people and the environment. As of 2020, Iberostar’s operations are single-use plastic free and they work with an ambitious 2030 Agenda to go waste-free by 2025, and carbon-neutral by 2030! The Wave of Change pioneering movement reflects Iberostar’s explicit commitment to the oceans.
Zero Waste Montenegro is working with Iberostar hotels in Montenegro to achieve a very challenging goal for Montenegrin circumstances – the diversion of waste from landfills. We work in cooperation with hotels Iberostar Herceg Novi, Iberostar Slavija and Iberostar Bellevue to bring the realisation of this goal in Montenegro in the coming period.
