Zero Waste Institutions

It is a part of the mission of Zero Waste to establish a collaborative partnership with stakeholders from Montenegrin public institutions towards a common goal of a more sustainable future for Montenegrin citizens.

Zero Waste Principles

Changes in behaviour start from within. Introducing and implementing the principles of circular economy and zero waste in daily operations of public institutions and offices will have a huge effect on citizens and accelerate much-needed mindset change. We encourage and support local governments and public institutions to take on an active role in reducing their impact on the environment by introducing more ambitious waste management plans following zero waste hierarchy, educating their staff and greening their procurement.

We can assist your Institution in that process as well as help you initiate innovative projects and programmes to implement zero-waste solutions in your offices.

Zero Waste Cities

Zero Waste Cities is Zero Waste Europe’s Programme dedicated to help cities and communities transition towards zero waste. It brings together a European platform of knowledge for local stakeholders to implement best practices, as well as a mentoring and recognition programme for municipalities. Zero Waste Cities is run jointly by Zero Waste Europe and its member organisations.

The Programme’s aim is to accelerate the transition towards zero waste at the city level – specifically small and medium-sized municipalities – with the implementation of the latest EU legislation and zero waste strategies based on citizen-centred models, leading to a substantial decrease in waste generation and increase in separate collection and recycling.
