Join us on the 15th of September!

Did you know…

Every year, hundreds of tons of waste find its way to the sea, and more than 60% of it is plastics. Plastics, particularly single-use plastic products, are one of the most dangerous polluters of our seas.

Plastics, with its enduring presence in the sea, irreversibly damages the marine ecosystem by killing hundreds of thousands of birds and marine animals. Once it breaks to the form of macro and microplastic, it becomes mistaken for food by sea animals. As a result, plastic in ever-increasing quantities ends up on our tables and causes numerous systemic diseases in the human body.

In order to tackle this increasing problem, a great number of local NGOs, international institutions and public enterprises joined us this year on International Coastal Clean-up Day.

Participating organizations are: NGO Zero Waste Montenegro, NGO Naša akcija | NGO Our action, EU Info Center, NGO Čisto more, NGO Green Home, NVO Dr Martin Schneider Jacoby (MSJA), NGO Green Mind, NGO Net Active, NGO Eko Art, NGO MOGUL– Ulcinj, Knightsbridge Schools International MontenegroRegional development agency of Ulcinj, Montenegro Eco Adventures and Into Pause. The action is supported by EU Delegation in Montenegro, Opština Kotor i JP Morsko Dobro.

Join us at one of the 7 locations along the Montenegrin coast and help us protect the cleanliness and richness of our sea! Show that you care. Go to your favorite beach, pick up the trash, take a photo and post it with hashtags #breakfreefromplastic and #EUbeachcleanup.

Let’s send a positive message to the world! If you want to participate/register your attendance here and wait for the local coordinator to contact you. See you on the shore!
